InClassica 2021 to Take Place in Dubai
This year sees the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC) and SAMIT Event Group hold the InClassica International Music Festival in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), from 28th August – 26 September. Whilst originally advertised to take place in Valletta, Malta, the restrictions on public events as a result of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic have neccessitated a change of location for the festival, with InClassica now moved to the UAE's most populous city.

Resolute in its commitment to Malta's thriving arts scene, the EUFSC nonetheless launched a smaller festival in the country this May, the Malta International Music Festival 2021 (MIMF). An online-exclusive event, the MIMF featured some of the world's most respected classical musicians: Russian violinist Alena Baeva, French cellist Gautier Capuçon, Ukranian pianist Vadym Kholodenko, Romanian cellist Andrei Ioniţă and Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich. These renowned musicians performed alongside the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), under the direction of Sergey Smbatyan in a series of five concerts streamed online 24th – 20th May.
Known for its stellar line-up of visiting artists, this year’s InClassica continues to attract the biggest names in classical music, this year featuring Denis Matsuev, Maxim Vengerov, Yekwon Sunwoo, Mischa Maisky, Daniel Lozakovich, Steven Isserlis, Fazil Say, Rudolf Buchbinder, Gil Shaham, Daniel Hope, Danielle de Niese, Behzod Abduraimov and Andreas Ottensamer. Invited orchestras include the Russian National Orchestra, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Slovak Philharmonic (Slovakia), Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra (Israel), Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz (Germany), Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra (Russia) and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (UK), with noted conductors from around the world in attendance to direct these celebrated ensembles. InClassica also welcomes renowned contemporary composer Alexey Shor, who will serve as the event’s Composer-In-Residence, with concerts taking place at the prestigious Dubai Opera and Coca-Cola Arena.
